If I could live anywhere...
I find this to be a hard question to answer because I'd love for my dream spot to also be close to where those I love are. So I will just put a disclaimer on this, I would only want to live in the following place if my family was there as well.
There are a few real places that I would want to live but let me first lay out some of my conditions. I want to be somewhere that I can swim, in an ocean or lake, all year around. That way I won't have to pay for a silly gym membership just so I can get some exercise.
Second, I want to live near mountains. I love mountains. People always say that I would stop appreciating it once it became common place but I don't know if that's true. If there is lots to explore I know Rob and I would be out hiking every single week, and then going for a swim after. Ahhh, beachy salt water curls.
Third, I want to be close enough to the city that I'm not going poor paying for gas, but far enough away from the city that I feel like I'm in the country. I'd love to live on a mountain. That would be awesome. I crave being away from the city a lot when I'm coming into Toronto. There was one point last year that I almost went crazy because I wanted to be out of the city so badly. The commute is not good for me. There's a part of me that hopes Rob and I won't be called to inner city missions in Toronto. At the same time, if we were called there we'd love it and if we worked with youth I'd make it my mission to take them out of the city at least once a month. For their sanity and mine.
OK, so actual places that I would like to live. What kind of place fits all these requirements? Most of the places I want to live only meet 2 of the requirements. I'd love to live in BC or California (:S..maybe..is there anywhere in California not totally over-polluted and over-populated?), North Carolina, Virginia (Virginia Beach? yes please!) or Costa Rica. Can I put Costa Rica on the list? It did say if I could live anywhere...so...
Can you imagine living by Lake Louise in Alberta? Look it up on Google...it's stunning. This only meets the requirement of being out of the city. But seriously. Living on a mountain, in a little cabin, near Lake Louise would be awesome. Oooo, I can see it now.
I guess I haven't given a definitely answer to this question but if anyone knows of a place that meets all of the above requirements I'd love to hear it.
Tomorrow my plan is to write about 3 significant childhood memories! Should be fun..hopefully my mom doesn't mind when I tell the story about her saying shittles instead of skittles. Ha! Love you mom!
